Want To Be A Business Leader? This Is For You

Do you want to be a great leader? You have some knowledge, but you may think there are other things to learn. You must be open to new advice. Carefully consider all of the information you are reading. These very tips may help you become the better leader you have wanted to become.

Honesty is key to being a great leader. Your people will follow you as the leader. Always lead them into the right direction. When people believe you are honest, they will have more respect for you. Being honest with those around you is going to make them be honest back with you and each other.

Honesty is an essential quality for a leader. Good leaders should be trustworthy. As you build your leadership skills, try working on honesty and trustworthiness. When people trust you, they also respect you.

All leaders that are good need to focus on days to come. You have to have the ability to look ahead and then make plans accordingly. There may be surprises along the way; however, with practice you can hone this skill. Set goals for yourself and develop a plan to achieve them.

You must be able to spot talents in other people. When searching for people who can help you, look for the one that would be of the most benefit. This also carries over to hiring contractors for individual jobs.

Always handle emerging issues with transparency. Hiding issues used to be what businesses did, but smart leaders now go the opposite direction. Why is this occurring? There is a lot of communication in the world today. Problems will be noticed no matter if you try to hide them. A good leader is in control at all times. Being a true leader means you are on top of that message.

Be someone who is known for being easily approachable. Some people think that intimidating people is the most effective way to let them know you are in control. This isn’t favorable and in fact, will prevent you from being respected. An effective leader is accessible and supports subordinates so they can be successful in their tasks.

Own up to your mistakes. Errors can be made by even the best of leaders. A great leader can admit to mistakes and speak about them honestly with his employees. It lets everyone know that you are in fact a human being, just like them. That may not seem like the traits of a leader, but sometimes that humanity breeds major loyalty.

It is vital for any great leader to exhibit integrity. This means you should be honest and do what’s right, even when you are out of the sight of others. You will not gain the trust of others if you have no integrity. When you make integrity an integral part of how you lead, others will respect that and be more willing to follow.

You have now been given some advice as to what should be done in order to become a better leader. When you make progress towards your goal of becoming a better leader, then it helps all those around you. The world needs more leaders, and it’s time for you to shine. Take this advice to heart and grow your leadership skills.

Gaza War: The Terrifying Truth (opinion) – Cnn.com

An Israeli reservist prays July 18 near the Gaza border by Sderot, Israel.

4. Expectations, the real problem: Unlike the two previous confrontations or even the second intifada where Israel and Hamas squared off, this crisis is driven by expectations on each side that will be hard, if not impossible, to meet. Even if the two sides wanted to stand down, they have raised the hopes among their respective publics that can only constrain each of them and prove disappointing to Israelis and Palestinians as well. Netanyahu wants to avoid a massive ground incursion, yet he’s identified an endgame — demilitarization of Hamas — that would require the forceful disarming of an organization that isn’t going to agree to give up its weapons voluntarily. And the Israeli public, which has backed the current strategy of trying to pummel Hamas into submission, expects an outcome that is more decisive than in previous rounds. Hamas, on the other hand, seems — in a cosmic roll of the dice — to be holding out at all costs and somehow banking that if it does so, Israel will be forced to agree to open up Gaza (or will do so willingly), release Hamas prisoners and expand fishing rights and that Egypt will agree to open up the Rafah crossing. The more death and destruction in Gaza, the more Hamas needs an explanation at the end of the day to justify the sacrifices and the pain of Gaza’s 1.8 million residents.

Excellent Advice About Time Management That You Will Want To Read

null
Are you often overwhelmed by the amount of things you attempt to get done each day? Do you have trouble with scheduling what you need to do? Would you like to learn enhanced time management skills? If you do, these tips about managing your time better may be quite useful to you.

Make use of a timer. If you struggle with focusing on your tasks, get and set a timer for how long you know you’re able to work on them. For instance, if you can work for 60 minutes, set your timer for 15 minutes, go on a short break, and maintain this pattern for as long as you need for completing the task.

The best tip for effective time management is to get a head start on the next day’s tasks. If you can, plan your day before it even starts. Preparing a to-do list for tomorrow is an excellent way to end your working day. In this way, you will be well prepared for the challenges of the day.

If you’d like to cultivate good time-management skills, learn to love your calendar! Some individuals have a preference for paper calendars they physically mark things down on. Other people prefer the versatility that a calendar on a computer or phone offers. Whatever method you prefer, using a calendar to keep your tasks straight will make you a much more effective time manager!

You need to pay more attention to deadlines if you find that you are always late. When you become aware that a deadline is coming up quickly, you must take time away from other priorities to handle the more urgent matter, and you end up behind on just about all the other tasks on your list. However when you make an effort to stay on top of any deadlines, you don’t neglect other jobs in an effort to squeeze in time to finish.

If it is difficult for you to manage your time, concentrate more on each task. Multi-tasking is a good way to end up frazzled with a lot of half completed projects. Doing multiple things at once can frustrate and exhaust you reducing the quality of work you do. Make sure that you take your time with your tasks.

If you struggle with effective time management, take time to analyze what’s awry with the current workflow. If you are unable to maintain focus on your task until completion, find out the reason why. If you would like to be a better time manager, it’s important to identify the good and bad points of your current process.

If you have lots of trouble with time management, you need to plan a day out before it happens. As one day ends, you can make a list of tasks to do for the next day, or set out a more detailed plan of action. You will sleep better and wake up more refreshed and able to face the day.

Time is fleeting. We’re only alive for so long, and that means we have to make sure we’re able to use each day as much as we can. Use what you learned here to make the most of your time.

Kleargear Must Pay $306,750 To Couple That Left Negative Review | Ars Technica

Theattorney representing the Palmers, Scott Michelman of the advocacy group Public Citizen, told Ars that collecting the money may not be so straightforward. We have been taking this case one step at a time, he said. Now were going to be figuring out where KlearGears assets are and how we can collect them. The French company that appears now to own KlearGear made a series of statements to the media in which they attacked this lawsuit and me in particular, but they never made any kind of motion to the court, so there was nothing for the court to rule on as far as their objections were concerned. The company has not responded to Ars repeated attempts to contact it by phone and e-mail. Previously, Ars received two unsolicited e-mails from Vic Mathieu, the director of corporate communications for Descoteaux Boutiques (DBS), KlearGears Paris-based parent company. In the second e-mail , Mathieu claims that its one-time customer was belligerent toward our customer care staff and threatened to defame KlearGear if he did not receive free merchandise and other consideration. Such a customer behavior is rare, but it has become an increasing problem for many companies today, he continued. DBS’ head of retail for North America, Lee Gersten, spends nearly half of every year in the United States and Canada and cites this problem as one of the reasons that we started to eliminate Kleargear.com’s social media channels in 2012. All this over two desk toys As Ars reported earlier, according to Jennifer Palmer, the original order consisted of a perpetual-motion desk toy and a bendable smiley-face keychain that were to be Christmas gifts to her from her husband John. After repeatedly attempting to contact the company by phone and e-mail, the couple reached a customer representative, who claimed that the items had never been paid for and had been cancelled. By February 2009, Jennifer Palmer posted a review on RipoffReport.com lambasting the company and its poor customer service.

No-excuse Leadership Lessons From A Marines Captain – Forbes

Angie Morgan, Marines Captain and co-founder, Lead Star

I imagine theres a lot of fear and nervousness when entering the military for the first time, just as there is when you get a new job or position. How can fear stand in the way of success and how can you quell it in order to lead? As you go through life, you get more comfortable with yourself and more reflective. I can easily recall that one of the biggest fears I had early on was the fear of failure. Up to that point in my life, everything had come pretty easily to me. I had good grades without studying too hard and did well at sports. In the Marines, I had to quickly learn a skill set that I wasnt socialized learning and it was really challenging. When I started training, I was very overwhelmed and, on any given day, I felt like I was behind.
